I was able to get the Overlorde debut 'Return of the Snow Giant' almost a year ago, shortly after it's release. And although I shamefully haven't taken the time to write a formal review before now, it certainly deserves one.
Overlorde takes me back to the days when heavy metal was HEAVY. The music on RotSG is some of the very best I've heard in many years. It's straightforward flying V, drums, and bass, wrapped with soaring vocals. The lyrics are catchy without being simple; the music is nothing short of brilliant without having to sound 'epic'; and the production is tight but not over-produced.
Since becoming a fan of Overlorde, I have had the priveledge of meeting Mark 'M.E.' Edwards at ProgPower USA. I'm hoping that i'll be able to meet the rest of the band someday as well - hopefully when they're perforing! HUZZAH!!!
